Learning is never Objective,

           but Learning is the Objective

Our Week 1 assignment involved creating a video introduction of ourselves including a short analysis of the history of learning trends and an explanation of our personal learning philosophy.

Explanation for My Position on Subjectivity in Learning

Learning is subjective. The instructor's experience, perceptions, possible biases and the student's experience, perceptions, and possible biases cannot be removed from the learning experience. As instructors the content/engagements/activities, etc., we design and transmit to our learners will always be colored by the perspective of the learner and in that way it will never be and has never been a complete and absolute delivery. I don't think the learner or the teacher can remove themselves from the acquisition of knowledge. Even observant on the side as a guide, you're still there, your traces will remain. I don't think this is a bad thing but it is something to be aware of. I find it ironic the connotations of the term 'objective.' That on the one hand, it can be taken as perspective (subjective or objective) and on the other hand it can be the learning goals for a lesson.
